Number of teen birth rates drop in US
The teen birth rate is going down in the United States.
Between 2012 and 2013 the rate of pregnancy in girls aged 15 to 19 dropped 9.5 % according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
That means about one out of every 38 teens will become a parent.
However, the rate of teen pregnancy in the U S still exceeds that in many other nations.
In Britain it's only one in 45.
In Switzerland only about 1 in 300.
So while the picture is improving there may still be more that parents can do to help their kids make smart decisions about sex.
