Winter Weather Advisories in effect for MS & AL
Winter Weather Advisories now extend south to the Mississippi coast.
Our rain chances increase as we head through the afternoon and evening on Thursday. Numerous to widespread showers will dominate our day. Though we will see rain, there is no risk for severe weather. Just have your rain gear handy and bundle up!
High temperatures today will only be in the mid to upper 40s, so not fluctuating much. Low temperatures tonight will dip down into the upper 30s and just pushing 40 degrees along the coast. It will get even cooler as we head through the night on Friday into Saturday morning. Winds will continue gusting up to 25 mph, therefore, "feels like" temperatures will be 4-8 degrees cooler than the actual temperature.
Wintry Precipitation? With temperatures falling to the freezing mark or a couple degrees above that early Friday morning, along with numerous showers, it is possible to have a mix precipitation fall, but NO accumulation. Accumulation on grassy areas will be possible to the north of NW Florida. Our main precipitation type will be rain, but sleet mixed in and a few snowflakes is not ruled out, especially inland.
With the cold area dipping down to the Gulf Coast, be sure to bring the pets inside and protect the plants!
Plan for the cold rainy weather to continue through Friday. If you do see any flakes of snow falling as the rain moves out, "See It, Shoot It, Send It" by texting 'weartv' to 95577! We'd like to see and share your photos and videos.
