Animal shelters and rescue groups across northwest Florida are filled to capacity.

If you have the room (in your home and your heart) rescuing a Great Dane could be a great option for you.

Northwest Florida Great Dane Rescue (NWFLGDR) has more than 20 dogs available for adoption right now.

Misty and Moose are two loving Great Danes with great personalities.

Michelle Cramer, president of NWFLGDR, says they are both great with children, other dogs, and cats.

Misty is a "tri-pawed"- the result of being hit by a car when she was a puppy, but she doesn't let it slow her down! She loves attention and hugs.

Moose is a 5-year-old heart-throb. His loving eyes will win you over. He too loves hugs and is always ready to play but also enjoys napping on the couch.

Misty and Moose are looking for their forever homes ahead of the holidays. If you're interested in adopting either dog or one of the many other available Great Danes, contact the NWFLGDR at

If you can't make a life-long commitment, NWFLGDR is always looking for loving foster families.
