“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Pensacon!”

Doors opened to a Barnum and Bailey style welcome and informational greeting as a barker, volunteers and security staff ushered long lines through the gates of the Pensacola Bay Center.

Thousands of people are expected to pack the venue for Pensacon’s second successful day. Pensacon’s founder, Mike Ensley, told Channel 3 News Saturday is typically the busiest day.

"It’s just awesome seeing everybody coming out [and] supporting the event, we’ve needed something like this in Pensacola for a long time," said Ensley.

He added, "This is our fifth anniversary of doing Pensacon and it just keeps growing and growing and growing, and that’s really exciting to see."

Channel 3 News gave you a live look - from a gate and from the Sky View Drone - as fans wearing character-inspired costumes, original outfits or even dressed down spilled into the Bay Center - well before the doors opened at 10 a.m.

Pensacon hours at the Pensacola Bay Center are from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
