Thompson arraignment for triple murder

A man accused of killing three people in less than a week will hear the local charges against him this morning.

Derrick Thompson will be at the Santa Rosa County courthouse for his arraignment at 9:00 am.

Thompson faces two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Steven and Debra Zackowski of Milton.

He is also accused of killing Allen Johnson in Bay County.
Both cases will be prosecuted simultaneously.

Thompson has already been arraigned in Bay County.
He is now going through the discovery process and the Bay County State Attorney's Office has announced they are going to pursue the death penalty.

State Attorney Bill Eddins has not announced if they will seek the death penalty in the Santa Rosa case but says they expect a decision to be made in the next week or two.

Eddins says Thompson will be transported back and forth, Bay County to Santa Rosa County for his hearings.

He says this will not delay the courts in Thompson's final verdicts.
It could take up to two years before each case goes to trail.
