1 dead, another injured after shooting in parking lot of Escambia County liquor store

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in the parking lot of an Escambia County liquor store Saturday night.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of Chasers Liquor Store on the 5100-block of N. W Street at around 11:30 p.m.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, a car drove into the parking lot and opened fire. They say gunfire was exchanged and two people were shot.

The sheriff's office says an individual took the two victims to the hospital, where one of them succumbed to their injuries. The other victim is currently still being treated.

Investigators have not yet released a description of a suspect.
