9/11 remembrance ceremonies planned locally
Tuesday marks 17 years since the September 11th terror attacks.
On Tuesday, there will be several remembrance ceremonies being held across Northwest Florida honoring those who lost their lives that tragic day:
- Navarre High School’s Junior ROTC will plant more than 2,900 flags for each life lost in the attacks beginning at 6 a.m. Reading of the names will take place shortly after that. There will also be a school-wide ceremony from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
- Dixon Elementary will host their annual Patriot Day starting at 8:40 a.m.
- NAS Pensacola will begin commemoration events at 9:30 a.m. The service will be held at the National Museum of Naval Aviation.
