Alabama motorcyclist killed in Foley collision

An Alabama man suffered fatal injuries Wednesday morning after colliding with a car while riding his motorcycle in Foley, Alabama.

According to a press release from the Foley Police Department (FPD) James Dees, 35, was traveling south on his Yamaha motorcycle on North McKenzie Street at around 9:30 a.m.

As Dees was approaching Berry Avenue, a 77-year-old woman driving a Nissan Pathfinder turned west onto Berry Avenue and into the path of the motorcycle, according to the press release.

Further details of the release state that the collision forced the Pathfinder onto the lawn of a nearby business and caused the motorcycle to collide with the front of a box truck waiting at the red light on West Berry Ave.

Dees was transported to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, the press release stated.

According to the press release, the driver of the Nissan and box truck were uninjured in the collision.

A crash investigation is ongoing at this time.
