An evening with Robert Picardo in Pensacola
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
Acting in Star Trek: Voyager piqued Robert Picardo's interest in science.
"I was a biology major originally in college, so I had a love of science from when I was a young student, but then I became an actor and I got away from it, but Star Trek has actually brought me back to my love for science by placing me in the company of so many people that are either astronauts or scientists, engineers, people that work at jet propulsion laboratories for NASA, I've met all of these incredible people that are passionate about space and I have caught the passion."
Robert Picardo is here in Pensacola to appear in the Pensacon convention this weekend. Thursday night he will be at the UWF Innovation Institute to talk about innovation, and how shows like Star Trek has informed science. It's February 22, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Innovation Institute’s Belmont-DeVilliers headquarters at 321 N. DeVilliers Street. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be provided. The event is sold out.
