After a search of the school due to a report of an armed person spotted hear campus, Tate High School is no longer on lockdown. Around 11:30 a.m. Monday, Southard confirmed nothing was found, no arrest was made and the school was taken off lockdown.

The initial call to deputies came in around 10 a.m. and authorities decided to lock the school down as a precautionary measure while investigating the report.

"Someone called and reported seeing someone on campus, possibly carrying a gun," said Amber Southard, spokesperson for the Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO).

Concerned people took to social media to voice concerns.

Law enforcement responded to the scene, located at 1771 Tate Rd, Cantonment, FL 32533.
