Chilly, but sunny week ahead

After a Sunday filled with showers and a few storms, we are heading into a gorgeous, but chilly week.

The cold front that brought the rain has moved to the east of our area, but we still have a few weather warnings heading into Sunday night and the early part of this week.

There is an increased risk for rip currents for our Alabama and Florida beaches. This high-risk period extends through Sunday night.

Beginning at midnight Sunday until Tuesday morning, we are under a Small Craft Advisory. Seas will build as high as 4-6 feet near shore, and 6-8 feet well offshore. Wind will be out of the north at 20-25 knots, with higher gusts expected.

Monday will bring sunny, breezy and cool conditions to the entire region.

Overnight lows will in the low 40’s to mid 30’s for much of the coming week, with clear daytime skies with highs in the low to mid 60’s until Friday. We will warm up quite a bit next weekend.
