A convicted felon has been arrested and received multiple charges after trying to flee from police when authorities attempted to arrest him for trafficking methamphetamine.

George Adams has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, certain person forbidden to possess a pistol, and fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, according to Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.

Over the past several weeks, the Baldwin County Drug Task Force developed information that showed Adams was selling methamphetamine in Summerdale, Alabama.

On Friday, July 8, the task force performed a search warrant in the 300 block of Highway 59 North.

As investigators arrived at the location, Adams fled from the home in a vehicle. During this time, investigators were standing near Adams' vehicle, telling him to get out of it.

Adams drove away from the location and through a small, but populated area.

Investigators followed Adams until he struck a fence post and tried to flee on foot. He was then apprehended by investigators.

When they searched Adams' vehicle and home authorities found over 30 grams of methamphetamine. Adams also had electronic scales and packaging material, which is common with drug distribution.

A loaded .45 caliber pistol was found in Adams' home.

According to his own statement, Adams has been imprisoned in the past for shooting into an occupied dwelling.
