UPDATED STORY:

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- One person is dead following a drive by shooting in Escambia County Saturday evening.

According to the sheriff's office, two people were reported shot around 6:30 p.m. on Paula Avenue and transported to the hospital to treat their injuries.

Investigators say the victim who suffered from gunshot wounds in the stomach and leg later died at the hospital. The other victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg was treated for their injuries and released.

Deputies say the incident was a drive by shooting.

The sheriff's office says the vehicle involved was described as a newer model Sedan with a silver trim.

At this time, there are no known suspects.

The investigation is still ongoing.
