ECSO: Store clerk hit by ricocheted bullet during armed robbery
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
Escambia County Sheriff's deputies are searching for two men involved in an armed robbery that injured a store clerk Monday night.
The sheriff's office said deputies were dispatched to Nations Food Mart on the 2800 block of Patricia Drive just before 10 p.m. to a shots fired call.
Two black men wearing bandanas over their faces entered the store with handguns, the sheriff's office said.
According to the sheriff's office, two shots were fired inside the store. The first bullet did not hit anyone, but the second one ricocheted off something and hit the clerk, deputies said.
Channel 3 News has been told the clerk is being treated by EMTs at the scene and will likely not have to been transported by ambulance.
The sheriff's office has set up a perimeter in the area as they continue to search for the two men.
