Eddie Mercer Automotive employees hand out cash to locals during holidays
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
Imagine doing some Christmas shopping and a stranger hands you an envelope with cash inside.
That happened to dozens of people in Pensacola Wednesday evening.
Eddie Mercer Automotive employees hit the streets to give back to the community after their annual company Christmas party.
The owner of the dealership told his staff to give the money to anyone they saw fit.
One worker captured his charitable experience live on Facebook.
Frankie Stoutemire said, "A lot of people were in shock. One lady thought it was a joke, she didn't want to take the envelope. One lady, she actually screamed as soon as she received the envelope and opened it; her and her daughter screamed."
"They'd go find somebody that looked like they might need a leg up and just pass the money out and it was just a real blessing for us everybody enjoyed it, it was our best Christmas party ever," said dealership owner Eddie Mercer.
Employees gave away a total of $2,500.
