Eglin Air Force Base preparing ahead of Tropical Storm Nate
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (WEAR) —
The commander of Eglin Air Force Base has declared Hurricane Condition 3 for the base as of 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6th due to the threat of Tropical Storm Nate.
Hurricane Condition 3 means destructive winds of 58 miles per hour (mph) or greater are possible within 48 hours.
Officials do not anticipate any significant changes to the storm impact on Eglin, however, units are taking measures to prepare for the possibility of inclement weather associated with the storm.
Eglin officials will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as conditions warrant. Eglin also reminds people to monitor television or radio broadcasts and the internet for the National Hurricane Center’s latest forecast.
