Eight injured in collision involving Okaloosa County Transit Bus
CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WEAR) —
Eight people were hospitalized following a collision involving an Okaloosa County Transit Bus Tuesday afternoon.
The two-vehicle collision closed P.J. Adams Parkway in both directions during the investigation by the Crestview Police Department. It happened just after 2:30 p.m.
Police say the crash involved a transit bus and Honda car. They say the Honda crossed into the path of the eastbound bus on P.J. Adams Parkway.
The nearly head-on collision caused the bus to flip upside down and skid down the side of the road, police said.
Police said at least eight people were taken by Okaloosa County EMS to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The road reopened about an hour and a half after the collision was reported.
The Crestview Fire Department and Crestview Police Department Chaplaincy Division also responded to the crash.
Officers said the driver of the Honda will be cited upon her release from the hospital and that charges are pending.
