Escambia County 4-H Council puts on Boots and Badges event
MOLINO, Fla. (WEAR) —
The Escambia County 4-H Council put its efforts behind a cause on Saturday!
It was the inaugural Boots and Badges Challenge.
The competition put military naval personnel against the Escambia County Sheriff's Office in a timed obstacle course.
It was a day of family fun and many activities, including a petting zoo that featured exotic snakes and miniature ponies.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Gulf Coast Kid's House.
"This has been a youth developed and created event they put together all of this and got all of these vendors to come out and raise money for the Gulf Coast Kid's House, which helps abused kids throughout the county . We just thought that was a very worthy cause for our organization to help with," said Brian Estves with 4-H Youth Development.
4-H members had hoped to raise $5,000 for the Gulf Coast Kid's House.
