For many students, the workers they see every day at school make a huge impact on their lives.

Their roles are crucial to each child's day.

"They make a difference in kids' lives," said Rob Doss, Director of Transportation for Escambia County School District.

In some cases, bus drivers are the first adults that students interact with in the morning.

"We talk to our drivers all the time on the fact that they book in a day of personal development for a generation of kids, so it's a vitally important position. So if you want to do more than just hold on to the wheel and get to and from one location to the other, it's much more than that. You're actually changing lives," said Doss.

The Escambia County School District is looking for more drivers and they're filling positions across the board. According to Jaleena Davis, Food Service Director for the Escambia County School District, they always have work available in their cafeterias.

"We need people every day so if they're looking for an opportunity for daily work. Even though it's substitute, on call, I have daily work available. Anything from running the register to cooking main dish items to taking out the garbage, washing dishes, all aspects of food service are covered in the schools," said Davis.

Candidates will have to take a background check and proper training. School officials said that part-time positions could eventually turn into full-time.

A job fair is being held at West Florida High School from 9 a.m. to noon.
