Extra buses will be available during Pensacola Beach Air Show
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
Those worried about getting around during the Pensacola Beach Air Show in July need not worry anymore.
The Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) announced it will provide extra public transportation along the island for those attending the event, which runs on Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8.
In addition to the three, free-open trolleys serving the Pensacola Beach daily, there will be 10 extra buses that weekend, according to the SRIA.
Services start at 9 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday.
Eight buses will head out from Park West at lot 21North on Fort Pickens Road just before the entrance to the park, while five buses will depart from Park East at lot 29.5 on Via De Luna Drive just east of the Portofino Resort towers.
Both routes will travel back and forth to Casino Beach all day. Passengers will only be picked up and dropped off at the SRIA’s designated trolley stops.
Passengers who want to get back to their vehicles as soon as the air show ends need to be on the first fleet of buses leaving Casino Beach post show, otherwise, they should expect to wait as long as 90 minutes for the buses to return due to expected traffic.
