FHP investigating 'unattended death' at I-10 rest area in Santa Rosa County

State troopers are investigating after a body was found at the Interstate 10 westbound rest area Saturday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), state troopers responded to a welfare check at the I-10 westbound rest stop at mile marker 30.

State troopers found a tractor-trailer matching the description of the vehicle. FHP said they tried to make contact with the driver, but were unsuccessful.

When the gained access into the cab, they found a man unresponsive.

EMS, East Milton Fire/Rescue, and LIfeguard Ambulance Service were then called to the scene.

The man was pronounced dead at 11:07 a.m.

They added no foul play is suspected at this time.
