Five family dogs were rescued by Walton County Fire Rescue (WCFR) firefighters during a house fire in Paxton.

According to WCFR, a mobile home on State Line Road was reported on fire Tuesday just before 1 p.m.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived within minutes to find smoke bellowing out of the windows of the home.

WCFR said the fire was contained to the bedroom and no residents were home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters found three dogs inside of the home and began treating them for smoke inhalation. One of the residents arrived shortly after the fire was contained and told WCFR crews there were two more dogs.

Crews found the other dogs and were able to rescue all five of them.
