Frozen pipes caused Kidz Academy to temporarily close

A Pensacola daycare was forced to shut down due to the cold weather. The pipes were frozen at Kidz Academy on Enterprise Drive.

Running water is always important but even more so at a daycare. Tuesday morning, a daycare worker went to turn on the water and nothing came out.

They realized the pipes were frozen and called parents of the 80 children that attend to let them know they would be closed. The daycare put blankets around the pipes and relied on Mother Nature to dethaw it.

Around 10 a.m. the water started flowing again and they reopened. Over the next few days, they will leave the faucet dripping to prevent this from happening again.
