Governor Scott will be in Pensacola Thursday to provide TD 16 updates

Our First Warning Weather team is tracking Tropical Depression 16, which is projected to become a tropical storm or hurricane. That means hurricane or tropical storm conditions will be possible for the WEAR-TV area over the weekend, bringing a storm surge, heavy rain, extreme winds and possibly tornados.

Florida Governor Rick Scott will be in Northwest Florida giving updates on Tropical Depression 16. He'll discus the storm's potential impact on Florida.

He will be at the Escambia County Emergency Management building on North W Street in Pensacola Thursday morning.

His next stop will be the Bay County Emergency Operations Center where he will provide updates in Southport, Florida.

Wednesday evening Gov. Scott tweeted that families in the Florida panhandle should prepare for hurricane conditions.
