Heater blamed for Brigadier Street fire

Three people were displaced by a structure fire in Escambia County. Escambia County Fire-Rescue responded to 400 block of Brigadier Street Tuesday morning around 8:06 a.m.

According to an Escambia County official, flames were venting out of the front window and heavy smoke could be seen throughout the house when crews arrived on scene.

The fire was under control around 8:25 a.m. Crews on scene determined the fire was caused by a heater.

No one was transported by EMS, but one adult was treated on scene for minor injuries. The residents are being assisted by the Red Cross, according to the county official.
