Homeowner's teenage daughter one of five arrested for burglary

Five people were taken into custody Wednesday in connection with a burglary in Fort Walton Beach.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) arrested five people on Wednesday, Dec. 20th for their alleged role in the theft of multiple weapons, jewelry, and other items.

Deputies were called to 424 Ed Street on Dec. 20th after a neighbor noticed an open door at the home.

The responding deputies contacted the homeowner, cleared the house, and while inside, noticed a smashed window and other evidence of a break-in.

Their investigation ultimately led them to the homeowner’s teenage daughter and four other associates who were all taken into custody at their hotel rooms.

The detainees and their charges are as follows:

  • 16-year old Hosanna King is charged with two counts of burglary. According to OCSO, King is the daughter of the homeowner.
  • 20-year old Ashton Hills is charged with armed burglary, grand theft, and theft of firearms.
  • Hill is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and smuggling contraband into a detention facility after baggies of "Molly" (MDMA) and Xanax were found by jail staff in the crotch of his underwear.
  • 32-year old Porschia Michel is charged with armed burglary, grand theft, and violation of probation.
  • 27-year old Bethany Newman is charged with burglary, grand theft, and possession of marijuana.
  • 52-year old Steven Wade Cole is charged with armed burglary, grand theft, and theft of firearms.

Items stolen from the residence ranged from rifles and combat knives to World War II bayonets.

OCSO states that additional arrests or charges in connection with this case are possible.
