LIVE:Democratic gubernatorial debate August 2nd

The Florida Press Association, WPBF 25 News, WFGX and other stations will host a gubernatorial debate, “The Race for Governor” -- The Democratic Primary Debate, live next Thursday, August 2nd from 6-7 p.m.

WPBF 25, the Hearst Television-owned ABC affiliate in West Palm Beach, is the producing television the one-hour debate and it will air in all 10 major Florida markets including Pensacola on WFGX ahead of the August 28th primary election.

All five Democratic Party candidates for Governor – Andrew Gillum, Gwen Graham, Jeff Greene, Chris King and Philip Levine – have indicated their intent to participate in the Aug. 2nd debate.

WFGX-TV will also carry a GOP gubernatorial debate which will originate from Jacksonville University and WJXT on August 8TH from 7-8 p.m.

Two candidates, U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis and Florida Department of Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, will square off at JU’s Terry Concert Hall next week.

WEAR-TV / WFGX-TV is excited to partner with JJXT and WPBF to carry the debates.
