Man accused of sexually assaulting child in Pensacola

A 73-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault on a victim less than 12 years of age for incidents that began in 1999.

According to a report, the victim told authorities she was first sexually assault by Clifton Akin back in 1999 in Summerville, South Carolina when she was six years old.

The report states Akin touched the victim inappropriately a couple of times a week for a total of 20 or more times while in South Carolina.

A few years later, the victim and Akin moved to Pensacola. The victim told authorities Akins sexually assaulted her almost every day after school during that time, the report states.

Akin was booked into the Escambia County Jail early Tuesday morning with no bond.
