Man arrested for February murder at Escambia County home

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A 28-year-old man is in custody for a murder at a home on Moore Ave. in Escambia County earlier this year.

Alexander Deloach was booked into jail early Friday morning. In addition to the homicide charge, he's also facing these charges:

  • vehicle theft
  • marijuana possession
  • cocaine possession
  • aggravated assault on law enforcement (five counts)
  • fleeing/eluding

The homicide took place on Feb. 12at a home on the 7000-block of Moore Avenue.Days later, the sheriff's office announcedDeloach and D’Angelo Cook-Humphrey, 27, were both wanted for homicide.

Cook-Humphrey has not yet been located. Deloach is in Escambia County Jail on no bond.

According to Deloach's arrest report, he tried to flee from deputies who located him in the Moorings Apartments complex.

The report states that at one point, Deloach accelerated in his vehicle at five deputies, who were forced to hurry out of the way.

Deputies eventually arrested Deloach after he drove to the dead-end on Breakwater Circle, according to the report. A deputy vehicle struck Deloach's vehicle to immobilize it.
