The driver who breached through Pensacola International Airport security fence and took a joy ride on the runway is facing felony charges.

According to Pensacola Police Department (PPD) 20-year-old Zane Carlson plowed through a fence at the airport on Wednesday and caused $24,000 worth of damages.

The arrest report states, Carlson drove onto an active runway and did several donuts on the tarmac and inside the Skyworks hangar.

According to the report, Carlson told the arresting officer he wanted to be like "Top Gun."

Pensacola Airport Officials told us no air traffic was impacted by the incident.

Carlson is currently booked into the Escambia County Jail on a $10,000 bond and facing three felony counts for criminal mischief.

The Escambia County Jail view states Carlson is schedule to appear in court on February 1st at 9 a.m.
