A Molino man is charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography.

Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) arrested 36-year-old Steven Ryan Godwin on Wednesday for possession of child pornography.

According to the report, law enforcement officials received a Cybertip from the National Center for Missing Exploited Children (NCMEC) which reported a file containing child pornography was being uploaded to a Facebook account.

The report states Facebook provided investigators the internet Protocol address (IP) of the Facebook account in which law enforcement could pinpoint the user’s location in McDavid, Florida.

According to the report, on July 29, 2018, Facebook reported to NCMEC that the user of a suspected child pornography was uploading content to another user on Facebook.

Law enforcement officials then obtained a subpoena from a service provider which identified Godwin’s wife as account subscriber of the IP address.

Officials also obtained Facebook uploaded image which depicted an explicit a nude picture of an eleven to thirteen-year-old female.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) conducted their investigation which determined the image uploaded to the Facebook account belonged to Godwin’s wife, according to the report.

On Wednesday, ECSO executed a search warrant at the 3500 block of Highway 97 in Molino.

The report states while occupants of the residence exiting the home, Godwin reached towards his waistband and dropped his cellphone on the steps. When deputies reviewed the contents on the phone, the report states investigators found 20 pictures of child sexual abuse.

Godwin was arrested and given no bond.

He will appear in court on October 4.
