Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) released new details on a deadly plane crash that took place in Okaloosa County last month.

According to the report, the small plane went down just north of the Yellow River Airstrip in Holt on October 19.

The National Transportation Safety Board report released a summary of its investigation; however, the report does not name the pilot.

The report states the deceased airman was a highly experienced military and airline pilot.

According to the report, witnesses stated they heard the pilot's engine cut out several times, and one heard a "backfire" just before the crash.

Officials tell Channel 3 News investigators are still examining the wreckage to determine the cause of the crash.
