A Crestview man has been taken into custody in connection with a domestic violence-related incident at his home on Barnes Road.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office said 72-year-old Thomas Davis Sr. battered his wife on Monday with a wooden leg broken off a coffee table. Authorities said he then fired a shotgun at her, his son, and his daughter-in-law.

The sheriff's office said his daughter-in-law was struck in the neck by a ricocheting pellet. It was previously reported his wife was shot in the neck, but the only injuries she suffered were from the beating.

Both women are undergoing treatment at the North Okaloosa Medical Center.

The sheriff's office said deputies were initially told Davis ran away into the woods. Another witness thought he was still inside the home.

Deputies set up a perimeter and Davis was captured inside the home.

The sheriff's office said charges are pending at this time.
