A Santa Rosa County woman is charged with domestic violence battery and cruelty toward a child after an incident at a home in Pace.

According to the arrest report, 38-year-old Drexel Morton slapped her husband during an argument Monday.

In the report, it states her husband told deputies they were arguing because Morton was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

According to the report, the husband told deputies a 16-year-old girl came into the room during the altercation and tried to break it up.

It reveals Morton slapped the girl and pulled her hair, then slapped another person in the home according to the report.

The report states the husband had a scratch on the side of his head.

The teen did not have any visible injuries, according to the report, but it states she told the deputy her head was sore where her hair was pulled.

According to the report, the 16-year-old also stated Morton's alcohol use caused her to become upset and start arguing with everyone.

The third alleged victim did not want to pursue charges.
