Pensacola man charged with assault on brother
PENSACOLA, Fla. —
Escambia County deputies arrested Mark Leon Bailey of Glynquist Avenue after a fight with his brother.
According to the arrest report, Bailey and his brother, Garrett Bailey live in the same home and started arguing during a barbecue on Tuesday.
The report says Garrett Bailey told deputies that Mark began talking down to his nephew, Mark's son, and called him a dirt bag. According to the report, the son is on the autism spectrum.
According to the report, Garrett told deputies that during the ensuing argument, Mark pulled out a razor knife and tried to cut him.
According to the report, Garrett Bailey wrestled his brother to the ground. The report says when Mark Bailey got up, he ran around the house, slashed a $200 tire on Garrett's work truck, then ran to a neighbor's home.
The arrest report says deputies searched the neighbor's home and found Mark Bailey hiding under a bed. Deputies confiscated a folding razor knife found in his pocket and submitted it into evidence.
The report says Garrett Bailey told investigators that he and his brother had been drinking before the fight and that his brother has a severe problem with alcohol.
According to the report, Garrett Bailey also told deputies that his brother "constantly threatens him with physical violence."
The report says, Garrett alleged that, in the past, Mark has broken several windshields on Garrett's vehicles and slashed other tires.
According to the report, Deputies provided Garrett Bailey with information on domestic violence.
Jail records show Mark Bailey is charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief-property damage.
