Pensacola woman embezzles $70k, sentenced to prison
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
A Pensacola woman has been sentenced to five years in state prison followed by fifteen years of probation for the crime of organized fraud.
42-year-old Heather Delorme pled no contest to the charge of organized fraud in October.
From January 2016 - August 2017 Delorme used her position as a bookkeeper for Duggins Services to embezzle over $70,000, utilized for personal reasons.
She created fraudulent transactions and sophisticated methods of concealment while the owner was absent due to health related issues.
An area business called Duggins Services to confirm the use of their credit card for the Delorme's purchase of a rental car. A subsequent audit exposed the 18 month embezzlement scheme.
