A Pensacola woman was killed Saturday morning after a collision on US Highway 29.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, on Saturday, Dec. 9th at 7:44 a.m. an unoccupied GMC Model SUV was stopped on the eastern shoulder of US-29 to assist another motorist.

At that time, Mary Adams, 73, of Pensacola was traveling north on US-29.

Adams lost control of her vehicle and began to turn counterclockwise and collided with the rear of the GMC, which caused the GMC to spin onto a driveway.

Adams suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

Adams' passenger, Martha Lou Carmichael of Pensacola, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital.
