UPDATE: Man shot in the head at Crape Myrtle Apartments identified
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
A man was shot in the head in Crestview. Now, authorities are working to find the suspect. Police believe there are witnesses who haven't come forward yet.
It happened at the Crape Myrtle Apartments on Martin Luther King Boulevard, near the intersection of Lloyd Street around 1:23 a.m. Authorities arrived to the scene to find 22-year-old Richard Earl Lee King had been shot. His silver Acura had several bullet holes in it and was backed into a resident's car. Investigators found several shell casings on the scene and they also found blood in an adjacent black Cadillac with Texas license plates, according to a news release.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Crestview Police Department (CPD) were on scene Wednesday morning. CPD launched their drone in order to create a 3D map of the crime scene.
CPD spokesperson Brian Hughes said King was transported to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center’s trauma center where he remains in critical condition.
