Plenty to do at NAS Pensacola

Pensacola is known as the “cradle of Navy Aviation” and the Blue Angels are a part of that long history.

While NAS Pensacola is known for being the home of the US Blue Angels, it also houses the National Navy Aviation Museum.

On Veterans Day, Channel 3’s Jared Willets went to the base to talk to Hill Goodspeed, historian for the museum, about all there is to do and see.

Goodspeed said the museum is more than a walk through its displays. is not just a walk through history.

"Every day for us is Veteran's Day," said Goodspeed, "If you haven't been to the museum in six months, you have not been to the museum."

The museum goes beyond being a walk through history. On any given day visitors can walk in and watch a graduation ceremony, a swearing in, active duty service members participating in demonstrations or memorials.

Currently there is a Pearl Harbor exhibit created by local college students studying graphic design.
