Registered voters turnout at University of West Florida
PENSACOLA, FLA. (WEAR-TV) —
In Escambia County, more people have utilized their early voting privileges this year.
According to voting officials 19- to 21-percent of registered voters in northwest Florida have already cast their ballots.
A change in state law has allowed a site to open for the first time at the University of West Florida and this polling location is not just for students.
David Stafford, Escambia County Supervisor of Elections says, "In addition, you have faculty, and visitors to the University campus, as well as the surrounding community. Sort of anecdotally, I visited early on in the week of early voting, and they indicated that they had folks from the surrounding neighborhoods that came in, and thanked them for having an early voting site there. So it's not just people associated with the University of West Florida."
