Report: Teen claims she was beaten, starved by caregivers; man arrested
Daryl Pitts was arrested Monday by the U.S. Marshals Service in the 200 block of Highland Drive in Pensacola on one count of child abuse and one count of aggravated child abuse.
According to a report, Pitts and a co-defendant, Jacqueline Hayes, are accused of refusing to feed a teenage girl because she didn’t feed a dog.
The report adds the child was strangled, hit with a steel pole and forced to play Russian roulette.
According to an arrest report, the child reported the abuse to a case coordinator at the Gulf Coast Kids House.
Hayes was arrested July 6. She is being held on a $600,000 bond.
Pitts has not faced a judge yet.
