Senior living facility looking to bring more than 100 jobs to Pensacola area
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
A senior living facility on Airport Boulevard in Pensacola is taking shape and should be completed this fall.
A spokesperson for The Blake at Pensacola says the company's market study showed that Pensacola had the need for an assisted living facility.
It is a hotel-style complex for seniors and their families.
The Blake at Pensacola will have 72 assisted living apartments that will include one and two-bedroom options and 47 specialty care apartments for residents who suffer from Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
"We've got very limited ability for assisted living at this point," said Blake at Pensacola spokesperson Caroline Barry.
Blake Management group has 20 assisted living facilities across the southeast.
Barry said the new location will bring 100 jobs to the area.
Barry said the jobs will be wide ranging in the growing segment of the healthcare industry.
"We've got positions for cooks, servers, nurses, personal care, direct care, and coffee shop that we will need someone to run," said Barry.
It is a place where residents can still live the life they want.
"We start here for assisted living around $3,400 a month," Barry mentioned.
The Barclay family is building the project.
"I went to school here in the area, grew up here and I am very glad that we'll be creating jobs for Pensacolans," added Barclay.
Construction is expected to be complete in August.
