ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A 44-year-old man is charged with killing his 70-year-old mother Sunday night in Escambia County.
Christopher Booth was arrested on a murder charge. He's being held in Escambia County Jail without bond.
The incident happened at a home in the 900-block of Fremont Avenue.
According to Sheriff Chip Simmons, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office received a call from Pensacola Police. Police told deputies that they received a call from a person from out-of-state, saying their friend may have just killed his mother in Escambia County.
Around 8:30 p.m., deputies went to the home, which had bullet holes in the windows. Sheriff Simmons says Booth came to the door -- and when deputies went inside, they found his mother dead from at least one gunshot wound and over a dozen stab wounds.
