ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Two teens have been arrested for the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old girl in the Montclair communityin early June.
16-year-old Glen Janes III is charged with homicide - negligent manslaughter, as well astampering with evidence.
18-year-old Michael Fulater is charged with accessory after the fact to manslaughter and destruction of evidence. He was released from jail on $50,000 bond.
Cayenne Thompson, 17, was shot in the head on June 3 around 1 p.m. at a home in the 4500-block of Montclair Road.
The arrest report states Janes III was playing with a gun when the shooting occurred. Thompson was lying on a mattress as she was shot.
According to the report, a witness told deputies that Janes III said, "I didn't mean to. It was an accident" as well as "the gun just went off. I was just playing with it and it went off." Deputies found four rounds from a.38 Special next to the mattress.
Following the shooting, Janes III, Fulater and a witness fled the scene to an abandoned house on Eureka Lane. The report states Fulater burned a pillow that he had taken from the mattress where Thompson was lying.
According to the report, Fulater later threw Thompson's phone from a vehicle into a random yard as they were driving from the Eureka Lane home.
A 19-year-old was also originally wanted for questioning in the incident. He was located but not arrested.
