Say it isn't "snow...? " You heard that right!

The National Weather Service of Mobile has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Choctaw, Washington, Clarke Counties in Alabama and Wayne, Perry, Green Counties in Mississippi.

The Winter Storm Warning goes into effect from midnight to 6 p.m. on Friday for areas of Alabama and Mississippi. Accumulating snowfall of one to three inches is expected.

A mix of rain and snow is expected in these areas overnight before changing over to snow showers by the morning and portions of the day on Friday.

The previous Winter Weather Advisory has been extended from midnight to 6 p.m. on Friday. This includes areas of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. This advisory includes Wilcox, Monroe, interior Mobile Counties in Alabama and Stone and George Counties in Mississippi. Periods of rain mixed with snow and sleet can be expected in these areas with accumulation totals up to one inch. Although accumulations would be mainly in grassy and elevated areas, slick spots on the roads will certainly be possible.

Now, the Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory are NOT for Northwest Florida, but we CAN still expect cold rain with possible sleet and flurries mixed in; however, no accumulations are currently forecast.

A Freeze Watch has been issued for Friday night through Saturday morning, which DOES include Northwest Florida.

Overnight temperatures are forecast to drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s by Saturday morning, with wind chill values in the 20s.

Rain will be gone by the time freezing temps move into the WEAR-TV area. With any leftover moisture and the sub-freezing temperatures Friday night and Saturday morning, areas of black ice will be possible for inland areas.

Please protect people, pets, and plants!
