Spanish Fort man arrested on battery charge

A Spanish Fort man is arrested by Escambia County Deputies on battery charges.

According to a report, a woman claims a man called her a racial slur, pulled her into a stairwell at Flora-Bama and punched her in the face.

A worker witnessed the incident and yelled for an off-duty deputy to come assist.

The report states the woman was also injured when a portion of her body hit the stairwell.

Gregory Jermone Robinson was arrested and charged with battery.

According to the report, he told deputies he did nothing wrong because the woman had "was kissing another man".

The victim told police this was not the first time law enforcement had been called to an altercation between them.

Domestic violence risks factors and paperwork were given to the victim.


According to the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 105,668 crimes of domestic violence were reported to Florida law enforcement agencies resulting in 63,193 arrests in 2016.
