Summer baseball league plan to be pitched to Fort Walton Beach City Council
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WEAR) —
A summer baseball league teamed with college players could be coming to a city near you.
A Miramar Beach businessman will pitch the plan to the Fort Walton Beach City Council Tuesday night hoping to get their support.
The six-team league stretches from Fort Walton Beach to Panama City. They would play games at high school fields.
According to a proposal from League Director Paul McDowell, proceeds from ticket sales would go to schools that partner with facilities and help host families.
If the project gets the endorsement of government and school officials throughout the area, play could begin next summer.
