Suspected robbery goes wrong, sleeping suspect arrested

Bond is set at $10,000 for a 59-year-old arrested for robbing another man on Fairfield.

According to a report, a man was sitting on the curb near Paradise Bingo located at 4469 Mobile Highway when Thomas Miller demanded his wallet.

Miller stated, “give me your wallet” with is hands in his pocket as if he had a weapon so the victim turned it over, the report states.

The wallet had about $20 in cash and he was told give Miller other items before he fled on foot, the report states.

The victim said he went searching for the man who stole his items and found him sleeping outside a bank and alerted authorities.

According to the report, Miller was found sleeping outside a Regions Bank on Mobile Highway and deputies found the victim’s wallet, Florida driver’s license, his cell phone, glasses and a few other items the victim said were stolen.

Miller is due in court on August 30th.
