14-year-old, 19-year-old arrested in murder of 15-year-old in Pensacola

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A 14-year-old is charged with murder in the shooting death of a 15-year-old in Pensacola Thursday night, while a 19-year-old is charged as an accessory after the fact.

Remington Andrew Crumbs, 14, has been booked atthe Department of Juvenile Justice on one count of murder.

Family identifies the 15-year-old victim as Marco Banks.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. at Gonzalez Court on the 2800 block of North 9th Avenue.

Pensacola Police officers found Banks when they got to the scene. Officers performed life-saving measures before the teen was taken to a local hospital where he died.

Investigators tell WEAR News that a single gunshot was fired, but it's not yet clear what led up to the incident.

"We're aggressively working this. It's heartbreaking for another child in the City of Pensacola, in the Pensacola region, to be gunned down by gun violence," saidPensacola Police Chief Eric Randall.

Pensacola Police had K9s out conducting a search for the suspects Thursday night. Witnesses ultimately led investigators to an apartment in the complex where they found both suspects.

Rumariya Union, 19, is being held in the Escambia County Jail without bond. She is charged as an accessory after the fact, which is a felony.
