A teenager was transported to Baptist Hospital on Saturday afternoon after a collision with an Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) vehicle in Cantonment.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that at 4:09 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30th Dashawn Bonner, 19, of Cantonment was driving an off-road motorcycle north on Calloway Street.

At the same time, an ECSO Chevy Tahoe, driven by Deputy McClurg, 31, of Pensacola was traveling south on Calloway St.

According to an FHP press release, Bonner's motorcycle crossed the center line and into the path of Dep. McClurg's Chevy Tahoe.

Dep. McClurg swerved to the left to avoid Bonner's motorcycle.

FHP reported that Bonner lost control of the motorcycle and it laid down on its right side, causing the motorcycle to slide under the front of Dep. McClurg's vehicle.

Bonner was transported to Baptist Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

He has been charged with driving a motorcycle with no endorsement and careless driving.
